Being the parent of an online child is difficult.
IMSafer lets you know when your children may be in dangerous situations online, and shows you how they represent themselves in their online profiles.Crisp and IMSafer – better together
Dear Customer,
I am writing to inform you about some exciting developments at IMSafer which will provide your family with additional, and increasingly proactive, online child safety tools. Recently, IMSafer was acquired by UK child protection specialists Crisp. Like IMSafer, Crisp has the overriding goal to protect children from online threats. This is a major benefit for parents as the two leading companies in online child safety are now working together as one to keep our children safe online. The merging of these two products will, in the future, bring lots of exciting changes to the service you will receive from us. However, rest assured, that at this time the service you receive from IMSafer will not change at all. Your log in details and account will continue to operate in just the same way.
When I co-founded IMSafer, my vision was to ensure that parents could feel comfortable that their children were able to experience all of the positive aspects of the Internet without worrying who might be trying to take advantage of their children. Crisp has the same vision and the combined companies will further realize our mission.
Crisp was established in the UK in 2005 and have created a unique approach to protecting children engaged in Internet chat through Instant Messaging, Social Networking Sites and Chat Rooms. Quite simply, online abusers are becoming more sophisticated in the way they approach children, and the combination of Crisp and IMSafer creates a single set of tools that stays one step ahead of the predators.
The proven and successful format we have at IMSafer will capture upfront and clearly offensive comments in online chat. However, there is also a growing trend of abusers who use less obvious and more devious styles of conversation to ‘groom’ children over longer periods of time, securing a deeper level of trust.
Crisp's technology further enhances the IMSafer offering by reading between the lines of instant messenger and social network site chatter, providing a clear insight into what motivations users really have and alerting you to any relationships that become suspicious. Much like IMSafer, It keeps children safe without taking away their freedom and allows them to access the websites they enjoy. Instead of building walls around youngsters, Crisp has adapted their system to go looking for the patterns and behaviour online-groomers cannot disguise.
One of our main goals of this acquisition is to continue uninterrupted service of IMSafer and you have my assurance you will be able to continue to use the service as before from www.imsafer.com. Over the coming months, the service will be enhanced as we integrate Crisp's child protection technology into IMSafer. In addition, current IMSafer customers will be the beneficiary of special consideration as we expand the service and our business model. We value your opinions about our service and over the next few weeks we will be inviting you to share your views by taking part in our very first customer survey. This will take only a few minutes for you to complete and will be vital to us as we continue to develop the very best possible service for you and your family. Please help us by completing the questionnaire when you see the invitation to take part.
