Being the parent of an online child is difficult.

IMSafer lets you know when your children may be in dangerous situations online, and shows you how they represent themselves in their online profiles.

Customer FAQ's relating to IMSafer's acquisition

Q: Will my login change?

A: No

Q: Who do I contact for support issues?

A: There are currently no plans to change the existing support service. Continue to contact IMSafer as you currently do

Q: Will there be any interruptions in service?

A: Although there will be some integration work to do with the Crisp product and web site which will be of benefit to everyone using the service, we hope to keep disruptions to an absolute minimum

Q: Who is Crisp Thinking?

A: Crisp are the leading online child protection specialists in the UK and they share IMSafer's vision of protecting children online without taking away their freedom to use the internet or their privacy whilst they are using it.

Established in 2005, Crisp further enhances the IMSafer offering by reading between the lines of instant messenger and social network site chatter and providing a clear insight into what motivations users really have and alerting you to any relationships that become suspicious. Whilst the IMSafer software identifies abusive and sexual keywords and phrases and immediately informs you of the inappropriate sections of online conversations, Crisp's relationship analysis tool detects the increasingly sophisticated grooming approaches used by more devious predators in Instant Messaging chat by monitoring relationships as they develop over a period of time.

Q: Why did Crisp acquire IMSafer?

A: Crisp recognised that IMSafer's product was different and complementary to our own and wanted to unify them to create one product that will be the best child protection solution available to parents in both the US and the UK

Q: What is the benefit to the consumer?

A: With the two leading companies in this market now working as one the outcome for customers in the US and the UK will be a product that represents the very best solution to protecting your children online and enabling them to continue to enjoy everything that the internet has to offer.

Q: Now that IMSafer is owned by a UK company, are there privacy issues I should be concerned with?

A: No. For the moment the existing IMSafer privacy policy will continue to be enforced. Once the two products are integrated an updated policy will be required and you will be alerted to that at the appropriate time

Q: Is the IMSafer service going to change?

A: In the short term the service will remain the same, however, the Crisp and IMSafer services will be integrated over time in order to create one global offering.

Q: Is IMSafer still free?

A: Yes the service will remain free for the moment with a paid for service being phased in over a period of time.
